Brain tumour clinical trial title

MISSION: GliomaS – A physiological exploratory study to assess tissue structure and metabolism in Glioma using sodium-23 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (23Na-MRI) (Study ID: 33936)

Brain tumour type

Glioma,

Description:

Cancer cells undergo a change in structure and an increase in metabolism that can be imaged using Sodium-23 magnetic resonance imaging (23Na-MRI), Hyperpolarized Carbon-13 magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (13C-MRSI) and other novel techniques, such as Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging (DKI). These techniques will be investigated in this trial. The development, optimization and validation of these techniques may provide a deeper understanding of the physiology of cancer with a significant improvement in diagnosis and management of patients with gliomas.
