    Seventeen people were diagnosed yesterday with a primary brain tumour. Seventeen people are being diagnosed today; seventeen tomorrow. brainstrust has one mission... to build solutions for these people who are being diagnosed with brain cancer. Whether that is through improving care, updating treatment or saving lives – brainstrust is there.

    I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning to sail my ship. And have we learnt to sail our ship since the last Decklog! To America and back, in fact. We did a little trading whilst we were there. We traded Meg’s brain tumour for Professor Black. He has kept her little friend in the deep freeze and we have acquired PB as a new Patron! I think we got the better deal...

    We have a new target! £15 million... all donations gratefully received! The money will be spent wisely on a gamma knife, specialist nurses, a brain tumour bank and research studentships. It's a good job that brainstrusters are 'can do' people. £15 million? No problem. Not with you on board.

    Twelve months on... and what a journey! We have been humbled by people’s generosity and overwhelmed by the support we have received in our first year. With your help we have raised more than three times our orginial goal and we have plans to establish the brainstrust Centre of Excellence in London.
