    Hurrah for team brainstrust!

team brainstrust - taking the lead against brain cancerOur aim is to raise thousands of pounds to support brain cancer patients and their families. We are really excited about this year's race after the wonderful success we had last year. The RPHM is a great occasion, the route is stunning and the atmosphere is incredible.

All we ask is that you raise a minimum of £117.50 to cover the cost of your place.

It's easier than you think, and we'll help you all the way. We'll send you tips for starting your training and easy ways to collect sponsorship like Justgiving.com. Last year we had 57 runners in team brainstrust who raised over £20,000!

If you don't fancy running you can still come along and join in the fun. Why not come to cheer on our 100 runners and help us man our stall in the Charity Village? Please contact josh@brainstrust.co.uk if you'd like to help out.

We really look forward to seeing you on race day!

    The Marathon

Meg in Brain HatThe Royal Parks Foundation, the charity for the eight Royal Parks, launched a brand new half marathon last year on 12 October 2008, starting and ending in Hyde Park. brainstrusters turned up in force last year and we had 57 runners who raised over £20,000!

So this year we are raising the bar! We have 100 keen runners who are up for the challenge! The RPHM 2009 is taking place on Sunday 11 October 2009.

You can find out more about the marathon on www.royalparkshalf.com

    The Route

The Royal Parks Half Marathon celebrates the amazing wildlife, history and heritage of the Royal Parks and sustainability will be a central theme of the event. It is stunning route through four Royal Parks, taking in superb views of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Marble Arch and the Royal Albert Hall. It's one of the best runs you can enter!

    Our 100 runners

    Map of RPHM runners

This year we have doubled our running team to 100 keen runners who have given their time and energy to completing a half marathon for brainstrust. It is brilliant to have the support and enthusiasm on board!

As you can see from the map our 100 runners are coming from wide and wide across the country to run in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. Half of them are from in and around London, but the rest are coming from as far away as Newcastle, Cheshire & Worcestershire.

Our runners also come from all walks of life, all ages and professions, and half of them have never run a half marathon before! So we are incredibly proud of this great team of supporters who have stepped up to the challenge, and who are determined to make a difference.
